Kohima, June 11
Amplified, Mistic Ballers, Warewolves and Angami Students Union Shillong have entered the semi-finals of the ongoing Challenger’s Cup Open Basketball Championship held at Kohima Local Ground.
Defending champs Amplified entered the last four after overcoming Ravens by 49-40, while Mistic Ballers eased their way after defeating Skyhooks by a scoreline of 59-38.
In one of the highest scoring match witnessed in the tournament, Warewolves beat Kohima Chief by 75-50.
Playing the last quarter-final match, visiting team from Meghalaya Angami Students Union Shillong (ASUS) trounced Naga Acers with a scoreline of 41-23.For the semi-finals, Amplified will take on Mistic Ballers at 10:00 am, while Warewolves will play ASUS.
In the women’s league matches, defending champs and title favourite Venture Wings overcame Air Hogs by 18-13. In the second semi-final, PDBA defeated Unity Gals by 17-8.
Both the final matches will be played on Friday from 6:00 pm onward. The closing function will be graced by MLA Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu as the guest of honour.
