All Nagas are members of Naga People’s Front, says Dr. Shürhozelie
Dimapur, Feb. 25 (EMN): Naga People’s Front (NPF) president, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu on Friday said those who go against NPF official candidates are not only going against the party but also against the Naga people.
He said this during an election campaign at Shajouba for its candidate and sitting MLA Losii Dikho, who is contesting from the 48th Mao Assembly Constituency in the upcoming Manipur elections, according to a press communique issued on Friday.
Liezietsu said that all Nagas are members of NPF as it belongs to the Naga people. The Naga political issue is the party’s foremost priority, “so any Naga joining other political parties is considered as misadventure”, he added.
Maintaining that the party’s objective is to bring an early solution to the Naga issue, he termed spreading of the party to all the Naga-inhabited areas as “best achievement”. He also said that unfurling the NPF flag in Manipur state moved him to tears.
On rumours of Naga national groups favouring certain candidates, he said they won’t “stoop so low” and asked the people to make their own decision wisely. He reiterated that there is written commitment with its ally BJP but the party is committed to its decision on the alliance.
He went on to express confidence that Dikho will win, while urging the people to vote for him.
MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu stated that “going against the NPF candidate is going against our own future”, as the party will be the king maker in formation of the next Manipur government.
He went on to say that NPF is the only party that can boldly speak for the Nagas in Manipur.
Dikho asserted that he is committed towards stability, peace and development for the people if elected while expressing regret that Nagas have failed to understand the vision of the NPF.
MP (Lok Sabha) Dr. Lorho S Pfoze also spoke at the event.
