AKM new team administered oath of office

MOKOKCHUNG: A new team of Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) led by its president, Lanutaoshi Aier, and the general secretary, Satemmongba, took charge of office for the tenure 2023-2026 on March 18.

A formal handing and taking over programme was held at AKM conference hall, where its tribunal general, Imkongwati, administered  the oath to the new team in the presence of AKM executive, officials from six ranges and former leaders.

Watimeren Ao, former AKM president, called upon the new team to uphold the sanctity of the office and work for betterment of the society. He also advised the new team to clearly define AKM’s constitution and resolutions and implement their works accordingly.

The outgoing president, Nungdokyanger Ao, has stressed on the necessity to extend cooperation and support from all corners to AKM saying, “We should always be ready to support the AKM in every endeavors it takes for the uplift of our society.”

He also advised the new team to always seek knowledge and advice from their predecessors and further appealed to every organ of AKM to be a team player.

Meanwhile, the incoming president, Lanutoshi Aier, has acknowledged the former team under the leadership of Nungdokyanger Ao for their commendable achievements despite undergoing through the global COVID-19 pandemic. He stated that the Ao people would never forget their good deeds rendered for the betterment of the society.

He has assured to serve the people with all honesty and added that God would be their guide for every task ahead of them. He also urged his team to shun the mindset of range but focus all their mind and soul to serve the Nagas and the Aos in general.

“Be ready to support both mentally and monetarily when AKM needs your services,” he appealed to the outgoing and former leaders of AKM.

A special prayer for the new team of AKM officials was said by Monglier Tzudir, associate pastor of MTBA.
