AIKNA celebrates foundation day

Diphu, June 12 (EMN): The 6th Foundation Day of All India Karbi National Assembly (AIKNA) was celebrated on June 11 at Rangsina Sarpo Auditorium Hall, Diphu with Adviser AIKNA Khorsing Teron as the chief guest.

The programme started with the unfurling of organisation’s flag by AIKNA President Nathan Ronghang.

During the programme, the organiser felicitated the toppers of the community. Sonju Tisso of Mt. Calvary School who secured 90 % in High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination and Rensing Hanse of Diphu Government College who secured 75% in Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) examination 2017. As part of the programme, the organisation also also visited Diphu Civil Hospital and distributed water and sweets to the patients.

It may be noted that, AIKNA is going to support the dou toppers i.e Sonju Tisso and Rensing Hanse for pursuing further studies.

Addressing in the programme as the Chief Guest, Teron said, they have to change themselves firt to change their society.

Highlighting the issue of Karbi Anglong, Teron said “we all know the genuine problem and issue of the Karbis, the demand for autonomous state for the last 60 years but the problems is still pending, so we have to analyse and dig out the problems where it stuck”. This is a high time we have to come together in one in order to achieve our goal, stated Teron.

During the programme, a monthly Karbi and English magazine ‘Karbi Anglong Today’ was released. The magazine will be available in market from Wednesday.
