Advisor inspects bridge restoration works on NH-2
KOHIMA — Advisor of Prisons and Printing and Stationery, Kropol Vitsu, on Sunday inspected the ongoing restoration works of the bridge between Jakhama and Viswema along the National Highway-2 in Kohima district.
During the inspection, the advisor expressed happiness as the workers and site engineers of the contraction firm ‘Fortuner’ were engaged in the restoration work on a war footing.
The contractor informed the advisor that the bridge would be restored within the next two-days for which the restrictions on movement of heavy motor vehicles beyond 12 tonne would continue, stated an update from the advisor office.
It may be mentioned here that the deputy commissioner of Kohima had earlier restricted movement of heavy motor vehicles beyond 12 tonne over the bridge located near E-service station in Jakhama along the National Highway-2 since May 30.
On June 1, the advisor also called on the general manager of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), Gajendra Singh Rana, and expressed concern on the dilapidated condition of the bridge and also the Kohima-Mao road.
