DIMAPUR — A Health and Wellness Centre-Sub Centre (HWC-SC) was inaugurated in Mon village by the advisor of Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak, on Friday.
In his address, Wangpang highlighted on the history, procedure and approval of the HWC-SC and expressed gratitude to the department and Paiwang Konyak, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, for bringing healthcare services to the people of Mon village, an update stated.
Stating that the facility’s ability to operate successfully depends mostly on the quality of its service delivery, Wangpang urged the department and the service providers to be constantly on the alert.
Meanwhile, the chief medical officer (CMO) of Mon, Dr. Imnapokim, has expressed gratitude to the advisor and former MLA Noke Konyak for their initiatives in making the HWC-SC a reality.
Assuring that the department will provide instruments, equipment, manpower and medicines, the CMO however said that for the smooth functioning of the facility, the community should also cooperate and be a part of the village health committee.
He added that the health staff and the community should work hand-in-hand and take the ownership of the sub centre.
The pastor of Mon Village Baptist Church, PS Pulei, led the dedicatory prayer.
Earlier, the programme commenced with an invocation prayer said by Tingmo, deacon, while the village council chairman, Nokpen, delivered the welcome address and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by MVSC president, Nahpang.
