DIMAPUR — In connection with the Aadhaar mandatory biometric update for students, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of ADC Dimapur Zakabo V Rotokha on Wednesday in the conference hall of the DC Dimapur.
In the meeting, it was decided that Aadhaar camps would be held in schools by the first week of September to carry out the mandatory biometric update for students aged 5 to 7 years and 15 to 17 years, according to a DIPR report.
Rotokha, speaking on the occasion, sought the cooperation of school administrators during the Aadhaar biometric update exercise to avoid inconveniences. He emphasised that failure to complete the update could lead to deactivation and result in authentication failures.
The feasibility of combining two or three schools based on the size of the targeted group and the availability of resources was also discussed.
The meeting was attended by the DEO, DPRO, All Nagaland Private School Association Dimapur unit, Nagaland School Alliance, and the district administration of Dimapur.
It should be noted that the Unique Identification Authority of India has directed the DCs and DEOs to implement the mandatory biometric update of Aadhaar in their respective jurisdictions.
