A poetry book ‘Teisonhie’ released in Chümoukedima
DIMAPUR — A poetry book titled ‘Teisonhie,’ written by Buno Iralu was launched by Tiakhala Jamir Shimray, assistant professor of English department at Patkai Christian College, Chümoukedima, on Friday at While Owl book lounge in Chümoukedima.
Speaking at the launch event, the author expressed that the book was dedicated to her teachers and mentors in Patkai Christian College, Chümoukedima, particularly to her English teachers namely Tiakhala Jamir Shiamray, Jyoti Roy and Roy George. Through the book, she conveyed that every day is a fresh new page given by God. She believed that every day is a new day to be grateful for being alive to do new and better things.
“This book is a celebration of the good things that God has given and allowed us to experience new things every day,” she said.
Tiakhala Jamir Shimray has lauded the author for expressing herself through picture and verbs. She expressed that the pictures in the book narrated story about life adding that the poem with words and pictures tell the story that meets the eye.
The publisher of Penthrill Publication House, Vishü Rita Krocha, shared that the author dedicated the book to her teachers and mentors in Patkai Christian College, Chümoukedima, during the late 80s.
She also said that her poems explore the everyday ordinary things in life that often go unnoticed but add meaning, beauty and purpose to life. She further stated that in expressing oneself in poetry keeps alive the Naga legacy of storytelling.
The dedicatory prayer was said by Rev. Zhabu Terhüja, pastor of Baptist Church ‘A,’ Medziphema town.
