DIMAPUR — The new headquarters of the National People’s Party (NPP) was inaugurated on March 9 at Limar Ki Complex, 2nd floor, Walford, Dimapur. The dedication ceremony was conducted by Rev. Fr. Kasthang Kath of the Believers’ Eastern Church.

According to a press release, the office was inaugurated by NPP president and MLA A Nyamnyei Konyak in the presence of MLA and leader of the NPP Legislature Party, Nuklutoshi, along with the office executives and members of NPP Mahila Wing, NPP Minority Wing, NPP Youth Wing, and party men of all ranks and file.

Speaking on the occasion, Nyamnyei expressed joy that, after long scouting, the party could finally get a suitable office and location.

He thanked the party members for their efforts and dedication in establishing the party office and emphasised that with the opening of the new NPP headquarters, the party members have now been infused with renewed vigour and energy to propel the party forward in the service of the Naga people.

He urged them to maintain the sanctity and decorum befitting a national party and to focus on the activities of the party with cooperation towards one another. He reminded them that to bring about an honourable Naga political solution, all the parties have come together to form an opposition-less government in Nagaland.

He further stated that as a national party and a constituent of the NDA at the centre and the NEDA at the regional level, they are bound by the directives of the NPP national president, Conrad K Sangma. He emphasised that they should work together in tandem to play a larger role in the development of Nagaland, in particular, and for all Naga people in general.

Nuklutoshi, addressing the party members, expressed that important events are unfolding for the NPP, as Lok Sabha elections are going to be declared very soon, followed by the ULB elections in the state after two decades.

He encouraged party members to diligently work and present their aims and visions to the people of Nagaland in the upcoming elections. He expressed his availability to offer his services whenever needed and welcomed party members to meet him.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the NPP General Secretary, L Hiketo Shohe. The chairperson for the programme was Audrey Mahung, president of the NPP Women Wing.
