Dimapur — A book titled ‘The end times: A look at the impact of artificial intelligence,’ written by Awoto Awomi, was released on Saturday by the commissioner and secretary of Health and Family Welfare, Y Kikheto Sema, as special guest at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur.
In his keynote address, Awoto Awomi, while reflecting on the genesis of his book, recounted how his childhood dreams of doomsday and the end times would leave him to ponder on their meanings upon waking up. The author recollected that on October 25, 2013, the Holy Spirit moved him in a way that exceeded his expectations. He added that from then on, his life took an irreversible turn.
While highlighting about the book, Awomi emphasised the inclusion of artificial intelligence (AI) in the book stating that it will be the final human invention. He was of the view that following the emergence of AI, there will be no more inventions but the ultimate end of the human race. Awomi continued by stating that the predictions of AI developers suggested that by 2050, AI will have gained control over the human race.
The book spoke about the apocalypse that is ahead and deals with how rapid development and upgrade of artificial intelligence is a link to “Beast Number 666” in the book of Revelation.
The book also emphasised on how the new world would be formed in the millennium, reign of Jesus Christ on this earth after the rapture of the church and apocalypse takes place.
After the 1000 year rule of Jesus Christ, Judgment Day will take place for both unbelievers and believers and they will be sent either to the lake of fire or heaven for eternity the book also touches on how eternity will begin as new earth, new Heaven and a new Jerusalem.
Awomi is an anointed preacher, author, Bible teacher, and counselor who is actively involved in various ministries. The book was published by Heritage Publishing House.
While speaking at the book launch as special guest, Kikheto acknowledged that artificial intelligence is already transforming the world and posing significant questions for society, economy, and governance.
However, Sema stated that artificial intelligence has its advantages such as time-saving, energy conservation, and cost reduction. On its drawbacks, he stated that AI can be utilised in ways that are harmful or lead to unintended consequences.
Sema emphasised that the approach towards AI should involve preparing to maximise its benefits, taking a leading role in addressing the question of machine morality, and taking steps to limit and eliminate possible dangers.
While pointing out that there are many positive developments happening in Naga society today, he also observed that there are negative factors at play such as cultural assimilation, loss of values, poor work culture, environmental degradation, societal divisions etc. He, therefore, stated that it should be the responsibility of the church and believers to focus on restoring those values and standing firm against the schemes of the devil.
