Dimapur, Jan. 31 (EMN):
The president of Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM), Rev. Sentishashi Aier released a book titled ‘ABAM Arükhudongtem’ (The Vanguards of ABAM) authored by Tiala Imchen at Worship Hall, Züin Ki Duncan, Dimapur on Monday.

Author Tiala Imchen said that the book ‘ABAM Arükhudongtem’ had been written in celebration of 150 years of ABAM, which will be held this year.

Speaking at the occasion, Aier said the book was being released at the right time as ABAM would be commemorating sesquicentenary this year.

The president of ABAM said that the author had written quite a few books and through her write ups, many people have gathered lot of information and knowledge. He added that when people read Imchen’s books, ‘one can encounter deep knowledge and with detailed information.’

Aier also recalled that from an early age, the author was a ‘very imaginative person’ and a hardworking and great storyteller.

The president said that nowadays, the ratio of reading Ao books is less compared to the total population of Ao tribe. ‘Therefore, releasing a book and marketing ration is very marginal,’ he said and acknowledged the author for publishing the book.

He added that the book is a ‘legitimate account’ of the Ao community, especially the church history.

On the occasion, short speeches were also delivered by chief editor Tir Yim Yim, K Temjen Jamir and vice president of Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD).
