Oriflame Face of Northeast grand finale on Jan 20

The grand finale of the beauty pageant Oriflame Face of Northeast 2007 has been scheduled to be held on January 20 at the Pragjyoti ITA Centre, at Machkhowa in Guwahati.
Preliminary rounds of the contest started in November last year with auditions at Dibrugarh, Jorhta, Guwahati, Shillong, Dimapur, Aizawl, Imphal, Agartala and Itanagar.
“The perfect concoction of glamour, fashion, beauty and talent, the event is mainly focussed on providing that much needed platform to all the young and charismatic aspiring female models from the region,” the organizers stated in a press release on Wednesday.
The contest is organised over three different stages of auditions, grooming sessions by industry experts and the grand finale, it was informed. “From more than two hundreds of contestants who appeared for the auditions 19 were selected for the grooming session in Guwahati. During the grooming sessions contestants were trained on different aspects of modelling such as communications, walk, choreography and soft skill developments by Ms Loya Agarwala, Soft Skill Trainer and Psychologist and Ms Meenu Paul, Choreographer,” the press release stated.
Roshni Hassan, 2nd Runner Up, Mrs India Earth 2016, photographer Kamal Barman and Assamese Director Kangkan Rajkhowa will be the judges’ panel. Fluitist Deepak Sharma, singer Rupam Bhuyan and Priyam Baruah with her team from Jorhat will perform at the grand finale as well.
The press release quoted Jennifer Khathing, Service Centre Manager, Oriflame India Pvt. Ltd as having said that “Oriflame is not just a beauty company selling cosmetics, we are in the business of fulfilling dreams. As we celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the company which started in 1967 and 20 years of Oriflame in North East India, we thought this pageant was in sync with the company philosophy of ‘Look Great, Make Money, Have Fun’.”
Oriflame, as a company encourages entrepreneurship and supports women empowerment, the organizers stated.
The press release stated: “North East is a very important market for Oriflame with immense potential. Keeping this in mind, we associated with Tattva to bring forward this contest where young talented women of the region would get an opportunity to showcase their beauty and intelligence not only to the people of North East, but also the rest of the country. The winners from this contest are going to represent NE in national seminars of the company and also be featured in an Oriflame catalogue which reaches lakhs of people across India.”
The top-three winners of the contest will take home a crown, winner’s sash, cash awards, gift hampers, opportunity to feature in Oriflame Catalogue and walk the ramp on Oriflame Directors’ Meet in Bengaluru, the organizers stated.
The event is managed by Tattva Creations, part of Eclectic Group and one of the premier event management companies based in Guwahati.
