In commemoration of Nagaland state Golden Jubilee and Mokokchung District Art & Culture Council (MDACC) Silver Jubilee celebrations, a two day Night Bazaar (December 5 & 6) was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Murohu Chotso today at Mokokchung Municipal Complex (MMC). It was organized by MDACC in collaboration with Mokokchung Municipal Council and Agriculture Technology Management Agency, Mokokchung to enable people of the town conduct shopping at ease at night. Departments under ATMA, Mokokchung such Agriculture, Horticulture and Fishery have set up stalls where organic green leaves, vegetables, fruits, mushrooms etc are made available to the customers at reasonable prices.
MMC Administrator and ADC Mokokchung, Chubawati Chang said that shops in the MMC Complex will remain open along with Night Bazaar and indicated that MMC will have no reservation for further extending the period of Night Bazaar provided it is beneficial.
With people in the town are bustling in illuminating their houses with decorative lights as a harbinger of Christmas season, the two day night Bazaar in the heart of the town would further boost the festivity in an atmosphere of peace.
