City Prayer Centre emerge champion

City Prayer Centre today emerged as the undisputed winner from amongst 16 teams representing faith based and secular organizations from various parts of Dimapur, the spirit of bonding through sports and sportsmanship was palpable during the volleyball tournament themed “bonding the odds” organized by Prodigals’ Home from November 18 to 20 at their Rehab Centre at Thilixu village, Dimapur.“By coming and working together we can achieve greater things” was the underlying tone of the short exhortation of Juliet Shikhu, Pastor, Sumi Town Baptist Church who graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest while Withee Bible College presented a group song, and Asst. Director of Prodigals’ Home and Youth Director of Konyak Baptist Church pronounced the invocation and benediction respectively.
Tia Akum, Coordinator of the organizing committee of the tournament in thanking the participating churches/teams and all those who contributed in the tournament expressed hope that this tournament would serve as a stepping stone for more bonding in the days and years to come.
Individual prizes were adjudged to Akavi Awomi representing city prayer centre (A) as best spiker and Vipeto representing City prayer centre (B) as best setter form Team. Representing Baptist Churches, Chakhesang town BC, Thahekhu BC, Chekiye village BC, Konyak Town BC, Diphupar Sumi BC, Boro lengri Lotha BC, Rongpangmen BC, and Toluvi BC were the participants while others were Agape Bible College, Withee Bible College, Timothy Bible College, City Prayer Centre, Singrijan Para Medical Institute and Prodigals’ Home.
