Good Morning Nagaland: Chicken Biryani recipe of ‘Food- the EAT WELL place’
Recently opened ‘Food – the EAT WELL place’ located at Old Minister’s Hill, Jail Colony Road, Kohima serves a variety of Chinese and Indian Dishes. The exciting new place is a dream come true for a determined and hard working group of friends.
CHICKEN BIRYANI
Ingredients (4 servings)
Rice
½ kg basmati rice
Butter
Oil
2-3 Cloves
2-3 Cardamom seeds
2 Bay leaves
Vegetables (suggestion; carrot, beans, cabbage, green peas)
½ tsp Biryani masala
½ tsp Garam masala
Salt
Rice portion
Start with boiling ½ kg basmati rice.
Heat up oil and some butter in a frying pan. Add 2-3 Cloves, 2-3 cardamom seeds, 2 bay leaves
Also add vegetables of your choice (for ex. carrot, beans, cabbage, green peas).
Now add the rice, biryani masala, garam masala, food coloring and salt according to your taste.
Rice portion is done.
Chicken curry
8 pieces of chicken
1 Onion
1 Tomato
2-3 cloves of Garlic
2-3 pieces of Cashew nut
½ tsp Garam masala
½ tsp Meat masala
½ tsp Coriander powder
½ tsp Jeera powder
½ tsp Chilly powder
½ tsp Haldi powder
Little water
4 tsp Cream
Chicken curry
Deep fry 8 pieces of chicken.
Fry grinded onion, tomato, garlic and cashew nut. Add garam masala, meat masala, coriander powder, cumin powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, little water and fresh cream. Now add the chicken and let it simmer for a while.
Plate the chicken curry (2 pieces of chicken per plate). Cover it with the rice and garnish with some coconut powder.
We suggest raita as a compliment to the biryani.
Add dry jeera powder to some yogurt. Mix in some chilly powder, salt and sugar according to your taste.
Your chicken biryani with raita is now done and ready to enjoy!
