Kikheto urges Sumi officers to discharge duty with sincerity
DIMAPUR — The commissioner and secretary of Law & Justice, Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Y Kikheto Sema, has advocated equality of all ranks and files irrespective of one’s position and advised the newly recruited officers to be sincere in discharging their assigned duties.
He stated this during a felicitation programme of Sumi officers who have cleared the competitive examinations, organised by the Sümi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SKK) held at Western Hoho Ki in Chekiye village on November 23.
On the occasion, Sema congratulated the successful candidates and reminded them that it is just the beginning of their new life and to accept the ups and down journey in their career ahead, a DIPR report stated.
Kikheto shared his experience on how he joined the service at an early age and was posted in almost 10 different departments having worked with many senior and efficient officers during his 37 years service as an officer. He stated that his peers often tagged him as ‘workaholic’ but admitted that he never claimed to be a perfect officer.
He also mentioned some of his contributions for the welfare and well-being of the society. Sema said he was instrumental in identifying bogus GPF and pension, pioneered the communitisation of public institutions, as an officer assisted during the visit of the 11th, 12th and 13th Finance Commission (FC) and in-charge during the 14th and 15th FC and also a core member of 16th FC recently.
Sema added that he was also instrumental in initiating the PIMS for the government employees, revival, promotion and export of Nagaland coffee, promotion of organic products under Naturally Nagaland and Organic AC Market, Air cargo and convenor of CM Micro Finance Initiative.
He also highlighted his contribution as a core member and frontline leader during COVID-19 pandemic, core member for introducing of CMHIS, 10 bedded ICU, medical college, introduction of royalty of timbers and betel nuts passing through the state, not originating from Nagaland.
He expressed his appreciation to the state government for awarding him Governor’s commendation two times in recognition for his contributions to the people.
He further urged the new recruits to be sincere and reminded them that the government is instituted by God and one must respect, honour and obey it.
The SKK president, Gihuka K Zhimo, delivered the presidential speech, while Vinoh Swu Assumi, EAC, spoke on behalf of the successful candidates and Rev. Dr. Phughoto Sema, executive secretary of WSBAK, invoked God’s blessings.
