Ao Senden condemns pothole repairs with mud on NH-61, reiterates ultimatum
DIMAPUR — The Ao Senden on Thursday condemned the use of mud to fill potholes on the VK Town to Doyang stretch of National Highway 61.
The organisation described the action by the PWD (National Highways) department as “the dirtiest trick and the most insulting action,” particularly given a previously issued ultimatum to carry out proper repairs.
In a representation to Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang, who is also in-charge of National Highways and Planning and Transformation, the Ao Senden warned that if satisfactory repairs are not completed within the remaining time of the 30-day ultimatum, issued on Nov. 4, “we will carry out our own course of action as we deem fit and proper and we will not be responsible for any untoward consequences that may arise.”
It urged the deputy chief minister to intervene and ensure proper repairs are undertaken as befitting a responsible government’s department, for the welfare of the people.
