DIMAPUR — Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs, Government of India, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, held a review meeting with the line departments of the centrally sponsored schemes (CSS) in Nagaland at the Secretariat Conference Hall, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima, on Monday.

Chief Secretary of Nagaland, Dr. J Alam, speaking on the occasion, said the review meeting with senior officials was held to gain an overview of the various schemes and programmes being implemented by the state government with assistance from the Government of India.

Alam also said the meeting aimed to review all the flagship programmes and oversee the progress being made in the exploration schemes and aspirational blocks, according to a DIPR report.

Giving a brief overview of the state, he highlighted some major ongoing projects, such as the four-lane national highways, railway projects, and other iconic projects with central assistance.

Kumar, who is on a two-day visit to Nagaland, assured after thorough deliberations with the CSS implementation department and other centrally sponsored schemes that all the suggestions and challenges faced by the state have been duly noted and will be put forth for further necessary action.

Chairing the meeting, Home Commissioner Vyasan R thanked everyone for making time for the respective decisions and highlighted key issues that are unique to the state.

Representatives of Kiphire, Zunheboto, and Noklak highlighted the progress and challenges faced by the aspirational districts/blocks in Nagaland through PowerPoint presentations.

A presentation on the status of implementation of the National Oil Palm Mission, recently launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, was made by the Agriculture department.

The status of the centrally sponsored schemes for the year 2024–25 was presented by the Planning department. Various CSS implementing departments and aspirational districts also shared the challenges they faced during the implementation of the schemes during the meeting.
