DIMAPUR — The deputy commissioner (DC) of Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer, attended the 71st All India Cooperative Week celebration 2024 held at RM Seili Complex, opposite SBI Kiphire, as the guest of honour on November 16 on the theme “Role of cooperative in building Viksit Bharat.”
Speaking at the programme, the DC reminded that the main objectives of a cooperative society is to provide goods and services to the consumers at a reasonable cost as well as to encourage them towards productivity, savings, investment and equalised the community living especially in rural areas.
The DC urged the 427 registered societies and non-registered societies under Kiphire district to produce what is productive in the region such as king chili, potatoes, pumpkin powder, millets, ginger, local products like handicrafts etc. He further urged them to work unitedly, help each other and grow together, a DIPR report stated.
The assistant registrar of cooperative societies (ARCS), Kiphire, K Lirichum Anar, in his welcome address, highlighted some of the success stories and the role of cooperative in building Viksit Bharat. He also acknowledged the receipt of computers, which was handed over to 16 PACS under Kiphire district.
Entertainment and song was presented by Senti Ao, DHO of Kiphire, while the programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Tinglichum Sangtam LDA.
All the head of Agri & Allied departments attended the programme, which was chaired by Muwali Y Sangtam, ICS.
