Delhi dominates Day 2 of Col. CK Nayudu Trophy match

DIMAPUR — The Ranji Trophy match between Nagaland and Mizoram, played at Gokulbhai Somabhai Patel Stadium in Nadiad, concluded in a draw on Saturday.

According to an update from the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA), Nagaland’s first inning total was 736/7 declared (169 overs).

Chetan Bist scored a record-breaking 304 off 423 balls, Nischal Dega contributed 145 off 169 balls, and Jagadeesha Suchith added 60 runs. Mizoram’s bowling attack was led by KC Cariappa, who took 4 wickets for 141 runs in 44 overs.

Mizoram’s first inning total was 393 in 106 overs. Agni Chopra scored 146 off 152 balls, while Mohit Jangra contributed 93 off 120 balls. Nagaland’s bowling attack was led by Jagadeesha Suchith, who took 6 wickets for 107 runs in 29 overs.

Nagaland’s second inning total was 197/1 declared (45.4 overs). Nischal Dega scored 105 off 127 balls, while Rupreo supported with 47 runs.

Nischal Dega has accumulated 815 runs in the current Ranji Trophy season, making him the second-highest run scorer. His tally includes three centuries, notably two in the match against Mizoram. Meanwhile, Jagadeesha Suchith leads the tournament with 37 wickets.

Nagaland concluded the Plate Group stage with an exceptional campaign, amassing 23 points and finishing in the top two, thereby securing their place in the Plate Group Final against Goa. The team’s journey has been powered by remarkable individual brilliance and cohesive teamwork, setting up a rematch with Goa in January for promotion to the Elite Group.

For Nagaland, this presents an opportunity to make history by achieving their first major domestic cricket milestone.

Col. CK Nayudu Trophy: Nagaland trails by 328 runs

In the ongoing Col. CK Nayudu Trophy match between Delhi and Nagaland at St. Stephen’s Ground, New Delhi, Delhi posted a massive total of 587 all out in their first inning. At stumps on Day 2, Nagaland trails by 328 runs in their second inning.

Nagaland’s first inning total was 240 all out in 63.3 overs. Sujal Prasad played a vital knock of 69 off 96 balls. For Delhi, Rounak Waghela claimed a remarkable 7-wicket haul for 54 runs.

Delhi’s first inning total was 587 all out in 109.3 overs. Ayush Doesja scored a brilliant 179 off 150 balls. For Nagaland, Neizekho claimed 4 wickets for 165 runs.

Nagaland’s second inning score at stumps on Day 2 was 19/1 in 4.0 overs, with Mughavi Sumi unbeaten on 14* off 15 balls. Aayush Singh (Delhi) took 1/4 in his first spell.
