EAC Sakshi marks 25th anniversary of establishment

DIMAPUR — The 25th anniversary of the establishment of EAC headquarters, Sakshi in Longleng district, was celebrated on November 15 with MLA of 50 A/C Longleng, A Pongshi Phom as the special guest.

In his address, Pongshi Phom expressed his gratitude to all the leaders who had great vision and worked tirelessly for the creation of the EAC HQ, a DIPR report stated.

“Now it is the bounden responsibility of all to carry and move forward for the expansion and development of this EAC HQ. While doing so let us also reflect as to where we have benefited and also where we have failed. And analyse all measures and come up with strict agenda for the good of all under this EAC HQ,” he said

For the development and extension of the EAC headquarter, he urged the citizens to give active co-operation to the government officers and staffs, and to make use of all welfare plans and policies of the government.

Phom also requested the government servants to be responsible and help build the EAC HQ with dedication and sacrifice.

“Longleng has good road connectivity, available basic needs and reasonable people. So it is one of the most preferred places for posting in eastern Nagaland,” he said, and requested all the officers to be attentive to know the needs and requirement of the people.

Deputy Commissioner of Longleng, W Manpai Phom said that though the celebration may serve many purposes, but bringing government administration to the doorstep is the most crucial one.

The DC also informed that in outpost villages where permanent officers are not posted, the district administration will assign officers on a rotation basis until full-fledged officers are posted.

Short speeches was also delivered by former MLA, M Shami Angh, president of Phom People’s Council, president VCC and VDB Association Longleng and BDO Sakshi, on behalf of the officers under Sakshi.
