Ranji Trophy: Nagaland on the brink of victory

DIMAPUR — Nagaland were in control at stumps on day 3 of the ongoing Ranji Trophy match with Sikkim at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima, Chümoukedima.

A press release on Friday informed that a dominant performance from Nagaland’s bowlers, led by Jagadeesha Suchith’s 4-wicket haul in Sikkim’s second innings, left the opposition struggling at 71/7 in 31 overs, still trailing by 84 runs.

In the first session of the day, Nagaland resumed their innings at 222/3, eventually reaching 347 all out by the second session, extending the lead by 155. The two following sessions saw Sikkim’s second innings falter against a relentless bowling attack, ending the day at 71/7 in 31 overs.

“Nagaland is poised to wrap up the match quickly on Day 4, with Sikkim still trailing by 84 runs and only three wickets remaining. A win in this match will significantly bolster Nagaland’s position in the Plate Group standings,” it stated.

Nagaland:

1st Innings: 347 all out in 123 overs

Sikkim:

1st Innings: 192 all out in 106 overs

2nd Innings: 71/7 in 31 overs (at stumps)
