Capt. N Kenguruse tournament: Head Hunters, Mez & Co secure victories

KOHIMA — On Day 5 of the ongoing Captain N Kenguruse, MVC Memorial Football Tournament at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, Head Hunters FC and Mez & Co FC secured victories to advance in the tournament.

In the opening match on Thursday, Head Hunters FC dominated Royal Naga FC with a 5-0 victory.

Lamsanggin scored first in the 16th minute, followed by second-half goals from Chingsha in the 58th and 68th minutes, Haidingbe in the 59th, and Molutsupong in the 75th. This win propels Head Hunters FC into the quarterfinals, where they will face Western Sumi SA.

The first quarterfinal match between Mez & Co FC and Velocity Vipers FC saw Mez & Co overpower their opponents, resulting in an 11-0 victory.

Gideon led with a hat-trick in the 18th, 48th, and 60th minutes, supported by Tohika’s goals in the 23rd and 29th minutes, Vinato’s in the 31st and 53rd, Neikethozo’s in the 38th and 75th, Yitachu’s in the 43rd, and Noune’s in the 80+1st, sealing the victory.

FRIDAY’S MATCHES

First match: Dynamo FC vs. Lengreng FC (10:00 am)

Second match: Western Sumi SA vs. Head Hunters FC (2:00 pm)
