DIMAPUR — The 10th inter-departmental tournament of Peren district kicked off at Indoor Stadium, Jalukie, on Thursday with Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Hiazu Meru, as the special guest, in the presence of NZPO president Zandi Domta and other officials.
Speaking at the event, Meru acknowledged the officers who initiated the tournament ten years ago, a DIPR report stated.

He also mentioned that the tournament provides an opportunity to foster camaraderie as well as acts as a stress relief for government employees.
The DC underscored the importance of unity among the government servants in the district and hoped that the inter-departmental tournament would develop functional understanding among the government officials in the district.
He further encouraged the participants to display the true spirit of sportsmanship and wished the tournament a grand success.
The three-day-long event will feature competition in the following sports disciplines: badminton, carrom, table tennis, penalty, chess, and arm wrestling.
