Dr. Mero urges NSUG freshers to serve Nagaland with success
DIMAPUR — MLA Dr. Neisatuo Mero attended the 59th freshers’ meet of the Naga Students’ Union Guwahati (NSUG) themed “Embracing our heritage and uniting our future” at Shilpgram, NEZCC, Guwahati, on November 5.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mero congratulated the freshers and all the students. He also expressed hope that they would return home to serve the people with their success in various fields, according to an update.
Reminiscing about his student life in Guwahati, Dr. Mero recalled serving as secretary and president of the Nagaland Service Guwahati, now known as the Naga Christian Fellowship Guwahati. He highlighted his role in catering to the needs of freshers as well as patients coming to Guwahati for studies and medical treatment.
He challenged the students to be responsible and accountable for the dreams and expectations their parents back home have placed on them by showcasing the moral and ethical values of the Nagas, even when outside the state.
He urged everyone to remember their roots, as it is where the values of life, culture, and traditions take full shape.
Dr. Mero also stressed the importance of learning each other’s languages, as they can serve as a vital source of unity and bring people closer together.
