DIMAPUR — The monthly Peren District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on Wednesday at the DC conference hall in Peren, under the chairmanship of DC and vice chairman of the DPDB, Hiazu Meru.

On the occasion, the board briefly reviewed the decisions made at the last meeting regarding the adoption of Peren Government College and schools in the sub-divisions, according to a DIPR report.

ADC Jalukie, TL Kiusumong Tikhir, and ADC Peren, Japheth Woch, highlighted the activities undertaken by the adoption committee and acknowledged the officers posted to the sub-division for their significant contributions in various capacities.

Further, DC Peren appealed to the heads of offices to willingly come forward and support the adoption committee.

The proposal for the adoption of one village under each RD block to streamline the functioning of VDBs was also approved. However, the agenda on the proposal for the construction of an office building with staff quarters, a fencing wall, a retaining wall, and an office gate for the registrar of cooperative societies was deferred for discussion at the next meeting.

Discussing the agenda for the upcoming 10th Inter-Departmental Tournament, Woch, who is also the convener of the organising committee, thanked all the departments for their proactive contributions and requested that all HoDs be present at the inaugural programme.

The DC also informed the members about the work distribution among various departments for the upcoming Unity Mini Hornbill Festival. He appealed to all departments to carry out their assigned tasks diligently to ensure the successful conduct of the festival.

The Agriculture and Fishery departments gave detailed presentations on their departmental activities and initiatives under Peren district during the meeting, while the Water Resources department and BDO Jalukie have been tasked with presenting presentations at the next meeting.
