C-Edge College wins state-level RBI90Quiz contest
KOHIMA — Team from C-Edge College comprising Thejasikho Vakha and Lachimbah on Wednesday secured first position of the state-level round of the RBI90Quiz held at RCEMPA in Jotsoma on November 6.
Tetso College comprising Lentinchon Luke Hangshing and Bishal Das and Dimapur Government College comprising Akolendang and Aghato K Chophy secured the second and third positions respectively.
The three top teams received cash prizes of INR 2 lakh, INR 1.5 lakh and INR 1 lakh respectively.
Addressing the event, Paresh Chauhan, general manager and officer-in-charge of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Kohima, highlighted that the state-level quiz competition was part of the Pan-India events led by the Financial Inclusion and Development Department to commemorate the RBI’s 90th anniversary.
He pointed out that the RBI office in Nagaland, established in June 2023, is still relatively new with only three Naga staff members. In this regard, he encouraged more youth from Nagaland to consider a career with the RBI by taking the all-India entrance tests, emphasising RBI’s longstanding reputation for integrity and the benefits it offers to its employees.
The officer highlighted that on the final day 41 teams across Nagaland comprising undergraduate students, each team represented by two participants contested in the elimination round, with six teams advancing to the state finals.
Chauhan informed that the winning team would compete in the zonal finals on November 29 in Guwahati, with an opportunity to progress to the national level.
It may be mentioned that the online phase of the competition was held from September 19 to the 21st. Based on performance in the online phase, college teams were selected for participation at the state-level rounds, where 82 students (41 teams) competed.
The winning team would now advance to the zonal round scheduled on November 29. The national final is scheduled to be held in Mumbai in December 2024.
Bhushan Patel was the quiz master of the event.
