He noted that the new councillors, empowered by the Nagaland Municipal Act 2023, are focused on bringing positive change, an update stated.

Pointing out the improvements in sanitation and traffic regulation, Hegui said that the vehicle parking initiative is a crucial step towards making Zunheboto town more organised and tourist-friendly.

He also expressed confidence that the people of Zunheboto would embrace the initiative, just as residents of Dimapur and Kohima have done with similar parking schemes.

Hegui acknowledged the contributions of the committee members and councillors, calling for patience and dedication as the community adjusts to the new system.

He further said that while some inconvenience may be inevitable, the long-term benefits would outweigh any short-term challenges.

Sukhalu Chishi, SDO Civil, who also spoke at the event, stressed on the importance of collective effort for the welfare the citizens.

“We must work not for personal gain, but for the overall benefit of the people. Despite facing criticism, we must remain humble and responsible in carrying out our duties,” he said.
