Dimapur: Man dies in truck accident on NH 29

DIMAPUR — A 59-year-old man was killed on Thursday after being run over by a dumper truck on NH 29 at Naharbari in Dimapur, near UCO bank.

Dimapur Traffic Police informed that the incident occurred at around 9 am when the truck, heading toward Chümoukedima, struck the bicyclist from behind—resulting in the victim’s death on the spot.

The officer informed that the victim, a resident of Sachu Colony in Dimapur, had sustained head injuries. The officer also mentioned that the truck driver involved has been arrested and will be sent to judicial custody tomorrow.

Further investigation is on, the officer said.
