DIMAPUR — The Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Wozhuro under Wokha district celebrated its silver jubilee on October 29.
An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Wokha, stated that a plaque to commemorate the silver jubilee was unveiled by Dr. E Motsuthung Patton, principal director of Health and Family Welfare, in the presence of Dr. Zubenthung Kikon, CMO Wokha, and the dedicatory prayer was said by Rev. Rapvuo Odyuo, former pastor of Phiro Baptist Church.
Speaking at the programme, Dr. Patton expressed gratitude to the all the medical officers and staff who have worked tirelessly for the smooth functioning of the health centre since its inception in 1999. He also appreciated the land owners who have generously donated land for the health centre and mentioned their immense contribution to the community.
Also speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kikon sought co-operation from the community to further enhance the health services.
“The silver jubilee celebration of the health centre has brought together the community and we appreciate the clearing of jungle at the health centre premise by the land owners,” he said.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Renathung M Kithan, medical officer of PHC Wozhuro, and attended by medical staff; chairman of Wozhuro Range Council Union, YanbemoTungoe; chairman of land donors, Myinthungo Khuvung; Dr. N Mhabemo Kithan, former director of medical department; HCMC chairman Chumbenthung Khuvung; Meriyan village chairman Alow Khuvung; civil society leaders from Totsu, Shaki, Phiro, Sankiton, L Yanthung and village community members.
