DIMAPUR — The advisor to chief minister and chairman of IDAN, Abu Metha, has urged students to recognise the opportunities and responsibilities they hold as representatives of the state in a fast-evolving global landscape. Stating that technology changes every minute in this competitive world, he reminded them understand circumstance on where they stand and live.
Metha stated this during the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) Collegiate Meet 2024 held at Livingstone Foundation International College, Dimapur, on Wednesday.
He shared that in today’s world, there are unlimited opportunities and so much room to excel and achieve. He, however, reminded that the room to success is only through hard work.
He said there is no luck in success saying that as long as they work hard and disciplined, success will come searching for them.
He also expressed that the students coming conveyed a message of unity among Nagas to others.
He concluded by encouraging the students saying, “Everyone has a talent, pursue that talent, master that talent. Don’t pursue the dream and pursue you talent. Put passion in your talent.”
In his presidential address, Tenyesinlo Bukh, informed that the meet is to reinvigorate their strength, shoulder those responsibilities individually and collectively and attain their motto ‘Unity is Strength.’
He updated that the meet consisted of three different activities including sports, music and knowledge hub.
Under the sport event, a total of 29 teams will compete in football, 30 teams in volleyball, 22 teams in badminton, 31 players in chess and 43 in Naga wrestling.
He informed that 7 teams would compete in the beat contest.
He added that the knowledge hub would not only provide the students for exchanging knowledge and ideas but also educate and instill in them about the information of research, invention, training, entrepreneurship, funding opportunities, skills, job placement, sports scholarship and awareness about AIDS and drugs.
Greetings were also delivered by Andrew Ahoto Sema, chairman of LFIC, and Medovi Rhi, president of NSF, and keynote address was delivered by Tsukjem Longkumer, convenor of organising committee.
Songs were performed by Akokla Langu and Arms Corporation.
The Collegiate Meet on the theme “Enabling potentialities” aims to bring together all the college students from across the state to explore and nurture their talents in various fields. A total of 35 colleges from across the state are participating in the event.
The ANCSU Collegiate Meet, which started on October 29 would conclude on November 2.
