Goa defeat Nagaland by 83 runs in Ranji Trophy match

Nagaland suffer defeat to Chhattisgarh in Col. CK Nayudu Trophy

DIMAPUR — In the Ranji Trophy match played at the Panjim Gymkhana Ground, Goa triumphed over Nagaland by 83 runs.

According to an update, in the first inning, Goa scored 179 all out in 58.1 overs, with Deepraj Gaonkar contributing 62 runs off 109 balls. Raja Swarnkar took 4 wickets for 58 runs.

In response, Nagaland was all out for 147 in 55 overs, with Suchith J remaining unbeaten on 35 off 81 balls. Arjun Tendulkar took 3 wickets for 27 runs.

In the second inning, Goa scored 306 all out in 92.1 overs, with Snehal Kauthankar making 75 runs off 152 balls. Rongsen Jonathan and Suchith J each took 4 wickets, with figures of 4/59 and 4/42, respectively.

Nagaland, in response, was all out for 255 in 104.1 overs, with Nischal D scoring 94 runs off 199 balls. Darshan Misal claimed 5 wickets for 51 runs, while Rahul Mehta took 4 wickets for 48 runs.

Nagaland’s next match is scheduled for November 6 against Sikkim at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium in Sovima.

Meanwhile, in the Col. CK Nayudu Trophy, Chhattisgarh defeated Nagaland with a dominant win.

In the encounter at the Sector 10 BSP Cricket Stadium in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh delivered an exceptional performance against Nagaland, winning by an innings and 228 runs.

In the first inning, Nagaland was all out for 113 runs in 49.4 overs, with Mughavi Sumi scoring 38 off 96 balls. Gaurav Chaturvedi took 4 wickets for 15 runs. Chhattisgarh responded with 411 runs for 3 wickets declared in 99.5 overs, featuring a remarkable 252 not out from Ashish Kumar Dahariya. Neizekho took 1 wicket for 69 runs.

In the second inning, Nagaland was all out for 70 runs in 20.2 overs, with Vishal Sahani scoring 14 runs off 17 balls. Varun Singh Bhuie delivered an outstanding performance, taking 6 wickets for 17 runs.
