CK Nayudu Trophy: Nagaland on backfoot against Chhattisgarh
DIMAPUR — Chhattisgarh established a commanding lead over Nagaland by the end of Day 2 in the Col CK Nayudu Trophy clash at Sector 10 BSP Cricket Stadium, Bhilai.
A press release informed that following a solid bowling performance, Chhattisgarh’s batters showcased resilience and skill, setting the stage for a thrilling Day 3.
Nagaland, batting first, struggled against Chhattisgarh’s disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for 113 runs in 49.4 overs. Mughavi Sumi held the innings together with a patient 38 off 96 balls, while Chhattisgarh’s Gaurav Chaturvedi shone with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 15 runs.
In response, Chhattisgarh’s openers laid a strong foundation, reaching 157/0 in 38 overs by stumps, with Ashish Kumar Dahariya scoring a brisk 89 off 95 balls.
On Day 2, Chhattisgarh continued their dominant performance, extending their first-innings total to an impressive 385/3 in 94 overs, leading by 272 runs.
