Wokha Inter-School Sepaktakraw Tournament concludes
WOKHA — The second edition of the Wokha Inter-School Sepaktakraw tournament concluded at the local ground in Wokha, with Yanrenthung Humtsoe, chairman of MSMEPCI, Wokha district, and president of Wokha District Sports Association, as the guest of honour during the closing ceremony.
In his address, Humtsoe stated that Sepaktakraw is a sport requiring agility and physical fitness. He noted that through their participation, students not only engaged in a series of games but also upheld the age-old tradition of “unity through sports”.
He lauded WDSA for providing a platform for such a unique sport in the district and expressed his hope that it would reach higher levels, bringing laurels to the district through their activities.
He also assured the association of his support in promoting the sport to greater heights.
The final matches were played in various categories, with Mount Sinai School Wokha winning the senior boys’ category against SMBHS Wokha, Mount Carmel School Wokha winning the senior girls’ category against Cistus School Wokha, and SMBHS Wokha claiming the Under-14 boys’ category against Cistus School Wokha.
Humtsoe presented the cash prizes, running trophies, and certificates to the winners.
