MOKOKCHUNG — The 75th anniversary celebration of the Mokokchung district Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG) was held at P Shilu Ao Memorial Park in Mokokchung town on Friday.

Minister of Rural Development and State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Metsubo Jamir, who was the special guest of the event, in his keynote address, highlighted the profound importance of the Scouts and Guides movement in shaping responsible citizens.

“The Scouts and Guides movement stands as an unwavering commitment to carrying forward values such as loyalty, courage, kindness and integrity, which form the very fabric of our lives,” he said.

Stating that Scouts and Guides are role models within their communities, Jamir encouraged them to uphold those values through service, learning and the willingness to sacrifice for the greater good.

Meanwhile, the minister also acknowledged the increasing complexity of challenges faced by today’s youth.

“In a world that presents numerous and complex challenges, your involvement as Scouts and Guides will prepare you to be responsible citizens and future leaders. The skills and values you acquire here will help you tackle these challenges and create a brighter future for society,” he added.

On the occasion, Jamir also released the jubilee souvenir in the presence of government officials, state BSG leaders from other districts and district officials.

The welcome address was delivered the deputy commissioner and president of the Mokokchung District Bharat Scouts and Guides, Thsuvisie Phoji.
