DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) and Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) will jointly organise a one-day online training programme on the Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) for teachers from Kohima, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon, Phek, Wokha, Zunheboto, Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Niuland, Noklak, Longleng, Peren, Tseminyu and Shamator districts on October 29 from 1 pm to 3 pm.
A DIPR report stated that the Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) is a joint initiative by Ministry of Education (MoE), Department of School Education and Literacy and National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Government of India.
It stated that in Nagaland, NSACS has been conducting training programmes for teachers under AEP since 2010 with an objective to provide accurate age appropriate life skills-based adolescence education in a sustained manner in schools and provide structured education to enhance knowledge and skills of adolescents to deal with challenges of life.
Some of the areas to be discussed during the training included HIV/AIDS and STI, HIV and AIDS (P&C) Act, 2017, and Growing up and Adolescence Reproductive Sexual Health.
All the head of registered institutions under the above mentioned districts are requested to take note of the importance of the training and depute one teacher to attend the online meeting.
It informed that the registration link for the training programme would be shared later in the district WhatsApp groups and email ID of the schools.
