Two-wheeler taxi in Chümoukedima forms association
DIMAPUR — With the launch of Chümoukedima Two Wheeler Taxi Association (CTWTA) on Saturday, the association has invited interested persons who own scooty to register themselves with the association beginning from October 21 onwards at MK Complex, 1st floor, Green Park Junction, Chümoukedima.
Kehodi Yoho, president of CTWTA, informed that the objective of the association was to provide better transportation system, which also aligned with their theme “Fast, safe and reliable.”
According to the CTWTA executive members, applicants for registration should be indigenous inhabitant of Nagaland, unemployed and above the age of 18. In addition, male riders should have one year riding experience and females with two years experience.
They added that the office bearers would screen and scrutinise the applicants and select the capable ones. The registration would commence from October 21 between 10 am and 4 pm at the CTWTA office.
In regard to fare, the members informed that it is under process adding that they would come up with subsidise rate.
Special guest of the inaugural ceremony, Menuhokho Hobo, pastor of Model Village Baptist Church, said the launch of the two-wheeler taxi service in Chümoukedima was a long-felt need.
On reported complaints about drunk driving, rash driving and accidents, Hobo said the association should look into such issues for the safety of the public. He urged the CTWTA to ensure that it enroll only those riders who can follow the rules and regulations for public safety.
Short speeches were also delivered by representative from Nagaland Two-Wheeler Taxi Association and Dimapur District Two-Wheeler Taxi Association.
