Naga People’s Front backs MHA’s peace initiative for Manipur
DIMAPUR — The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has welcomed the Union Home Ministry’s initiative to broker peace in Manipur by convening a meeting with the elected representatives of the Naga, Kuki, and Meitei communities in Delhi.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the party described the meeting as timely. The NPF views this step as critical for initiating meaningful dialogue aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Manipur, it stated.
“Recent media reports indicate varying perspectives on the nature and outcomes of the meeting, with some sources expressing optimism about reconciliation and others voicing skepticism regarding the willingness of all parties to engage constructively. In light of these differing viewpoints, the NPF urges all participants to approach the discussions with an open mind, reconciliation and mutual respect.
“The NPF anticipates a renewed commitment from all parties to ensure the protection and safety of all citizens. The NPF remains supportive of any initiative that promotes the welfare of all communities and restores normalcy in the state,” the statement read.
