DIMAPUR — The Personnel and Administrative Reforms department, Nagaland on Tuesday announced new age limits for joining government service, superseding all previous notifications.

Effective October 9, 2024, the upper age limit for Group A, B, C, and D positions is now 32 years old. The minimum age requirement remains 18 for Group D and 21 for the remaining groups.

The department also outlined age relaxations for specific groups. Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates will benefit from a 5-year extension, raising their upper age limit to 37. Government employees seeking internal transfers or promotions are granted relaxation equivalent to their years of service, capped at a maximum of 5 years.

These changes, approved by the Cabinet (NO.CAB-1/14/2023 dated 9/10/2024), are effective immediately, it said.
