DIMAPUR — In pursuance to notification of Nagaland Commissioner dated October 1, the deputy commissioner (DC) of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, has informed all concerned that enumeration exercise would be conducted for the people and their direct descendants from Garo, Kuki, Kachari, Mikir (Karbi) and Nepali/ Gorkhas settled in Mokokchung district for issuance of IIC, permanent residence certificate (PRC).
Enumeration exercise would be conducted for the Garo, Kuki, Kachar, Mikir (Karbi) settled in the state of Nagaland prior to December 1, 1963, and for Nepali/Gorkhas settled in the state of Nagaland prior to December 31, 1940.
A DIPR report stated that the enumeration would be conducted by the office of the DC, Mokokchung, at the village/ town levels in the prescribed proforma and the enumeration sheet must be countersigned by the village council chairman/ municipal council chairman (as applicable), concerned village GB, area administrative officer, chairman/ president/ representative of the Garo, Kachari, Kuki, Mikir and Nepali/ Gorkhas (as applicable) and the deputy commissioner of the district.
It stated that all copies of final enumeration sheets should be submitted to the Home department through the Commissioner, which would be further placed before the Cabinet for decision.
It informed that training of charge officers, supervisors and enumerators would be conducted from October 18 to the 31st, while the enumeration exercise would be conducted from November 1 to January 31, 2025.
Draft list would be published on February 15, 2025, while inviting period for claims and objections would be from February 17 to March 17, disposal of claims and objection from March 18 to April 21 and final publication of the list enumeration on May 6, 2025.
