DIMAPUR — A three-day 4th biennial youth conference of the Association of the Gorkha Baptist Churches Nagaland (AGBCN) got underway at WSBAK millennium hall in Daniel village, Doyapur, under Chümoukedima district on Friday on the theme ‘Growing stronger and reaching higher.’

An update from the association stated that more than 500 delegates and officials from 54 Nagaland Gorkha Baptist Churches and Fellowships are attending the three-day event.

The opening ceremony was performed by the youth department of Gorkha Baptist Church, Diphupar, while the worship was led by the youth department of Nepali Baptist Church, Tuensang.

K Nifato Chishi, WSBAK secretary of Youth Ministry, was the speaker of the opening service. In his sermon, he spoke on behavioral problem among young people and urged the Gorkha youth to have faith in God and not to blame others or the society.

He also told the young people not to be frustrated in life but to be rooted in Christ and to be matured as a Christian youth to grow stronger and reach higher in life.

Dr. Gopal Basnet, AGBCN council chairman, stated that the Gorkha youth Christians in Nagaland are growing stronger in Christ. He encouraged the youth to be alert in life as they are the future leaders.

Songs were presented by Nepali Baptist Church, Zubza, and Gorkha Baptist Church, Piphema.

Shishir Lama, AGBCN youth secretary, delivered the welcome address, which was chaired by Suresh Thapa, youth pastor of Nepali Baptist Church, Kipihire, and the camp director of the youth conference, pastor Daniel Biswakarma, led in the orientation session.
