Mokokchung DPDB proposed for trauma centre
DIMAPUR — Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and chairman of Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Sharingain Longkumer, has proposed to set up a trauma centre in Mokokchung.
Longkumer made this proposal following review on status report of capital assets from the Health department during the monthly DPDB meeting held on Wednesday at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office, a DIPR report stated.
With the increase in number of vehicles and commuters, the chairman stated that it is pertinent to have trauma centre so as to provide immediate care for patients suffering from major traumatic injuries such as falls, motor vehicle accidents, thereby saving lives through timely intervention.
In this regard, he has asked the concerned department to put up proposal so that it could be materialise in the coming days.
The chairman also asked the PHED department to give detail report in the next meeting regarding the failure of water sources and also to suggest other alternatives so as to discuss and find solution about the scarcity of water in the district.
Status reports of capital assets were presented by the department of Art and Culture, Urban Development, Electrical Division, Taxes, Health and Family Welfare, District Institute of Education Training, Land Record and Survey and PHED.
Meanwhile, the members approved the proposal for inclusion of construction of multi-utility complex in Chungtia village and forwarded to the government for further action.
The department of Social Welfare made a powerpoint presentation during the meeting.
