MLA Humtsoe inaugurates new Wokha village gate
WOKHA — A new village gate at Wokha village was officially inaugurated by MLA Y Mhonbemo Humtsoe at Ratssiphen, Wokha village, on Tuesday, with a prayer led by Rev. O Thungben Kikon, pastor of Wokha Village Baptist Church.
Speaking on the occasion, Humtsoe expressed gratitude to the villagers, landowners, civil society organisations (CSOs), and other bodies for their unwavering support during the construction of the gate.
He emphasised the village’s ongoing beautification efforts, which include the installation of 40 new streetlights and the laying of paver blocks. These enhancements are part of the preparations for various upcoming jubilees that the village will celebrate.
Humtsoe also extended appreciation to architect Lijan Odyuo and all contributors to the project. He mentioned that similar development efforts are being undertaken in other villages.
ADC Renpomo Ezung commended the village for its prudent use of Local Area Development Programme (LADP) funds, setting a positive example for other communities.
Meanwhile, Wokha Village Council chairman Vandan Erui, along with CSOs and the public, expressed gratitude to Humtsoe for his support and dedication to the community’s welfare.
