Kiphire Wildlife Division hosts inter-school quiz

DIMAPUR — As part of the weeklong celebrations for Wildlife Week 2024, the Kiphire Wildlife Division, in collaboration with the Greenland Society, Kiphire, organised an inter-school quiz competition at RM Seili Complex, Kiphire HQ, on October 5. The quiz was on the theme “Wildlife conservation through co-existence,” as stated in an update. Eight teams from schools in Kiphire District participated in the quiz. The programme was chaired by Temong Y Tikhir, with the invocation led by Achemba Sangtam, Forest Guard, and the quiz master was Sandeep Rajgotra, Wildlife Warden Kiphire. Loyola Higher Secondary School, Kiphire, emerged as the winner of the quiz competition.

Revised pension for former legislators

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Salaries, Allowances and Other Facilities of the Chief Minister, Speaker, Deputy Chief Minister/Ministers, Leader of Opposition, Deputy Speaker, and Other Members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and Pension for Ex-Members Act 2024 (Sixth Amendment) was duly assented to by the Governor on April 15, 2024. An update has stated that all former MLAs and family pensioners are requested to collect the revised pensioner’s form from the Members Amenities Branch of the Assembly Secretariat, starting from October 14 during office hours.

Tseminyu DPDB meeting on October 17

DIMAPUR — The monthly meeting of the Tseminyu District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) will be held on October 17 at 12 noon at the deputy commissioner’s conference hall. District planning officer and member secretary of DPDB Tseminyu, Meyikokba Jamir, has informed all the boar members to attend the meeting positively, an official bulletin stated.

Admission in PM Shri JNV Longleng

DIMAPUR — The Longleng district administration has informed that the lateral entry selection test (LEST) for Class 10 admission in PM Shri JNV, Longleng for the session 2025-2026 will be held in Longleng and Tamlu on February 8, 2025. According to a DIPR report, the last date of registration is October 30, 2024. All concerned ward presidents and council chairmen have been requested to disseminate about the selection test in their respective jurisdictions for maximum registration.

RPOK meeting on October 9

DIMAPUR — The Rengma Public Organisation, Kohima (RPOK) has convened a meeting on October 9 at 2 pm at RBCK conference hall. In a press release, the organisation requested all its executives, advisors, range/group presidents and general secretaries to attend the meeting.

Extempore speech competition held in Niuland

DIMAPUR — To commemorate International Day of the Girl Child 2024, an extempore speech competition was organised by Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Niuland district, at the deputy commissioner’s conference hall on Monday. According to an update, the competition started with a short speech from resource person Sentimenla, District Welfare Officer, Niuland. Lina Achumi from GHSS Niuland won the first prize, while Louis Pame and Nalto Zhimo from Shepherd Montessori High School won the second and third prizes, respectively.
