DIMAPUR — The monthly Peren District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of October was held at DC’s conference hall on Monday.
The meeting, chaired deputy commissioner and vice chairman of DPDB Peren, Hiazu Meru, reviewed the decisions taken in the previous meeting, a DIPR report stated.
The agenda on recasting of iconic projects in respect of 7-Peren AC including construction of council halls in Jalukie Zangdi village and Dungki village were deliberated upon and approved by the board.
The house also decided to organise a unity mini Hornbill Festival from December 5 to the 7th, with an aim to bring all the communities of Peren district together during the event.
The festival will be held in two locations – formal programme at DC’s office complex and informal programme at Zero Point.
In view of this, the deputy commissioner has requested all the DPDB members to be actively involved for the successful conduct of the festival.
The house also resolved to conduct inter-departmental tournament from Novemeber 7 to the 9th in Jalukie. The tournament will feature various disciplines like badminton, carom, table tennis, arm wrestling and penalty shootout.
On the agenda for full functional of DIET centre under Jalukie sub-division, the DC entrusted ADC Jalukie to verify the land matter.
Additionally, the board approved and recommended the registration of societies in respect of Rani Gaidinliu Vedic Gurukulam Society in Azailong village and Liangmai Baptist Aruang (LBA) in Tening.
Other agendas discussed in the meeting included DPDB pilot projects for off-season crops in New Tesen village, issues of water supply and electricity connections at district HQ and establishment of new EBRC and SDEO office under Jalukie sub-division.
The deputy commissioner further reminded the members on the conduct of table top exercise with the line departments and stake holders to be organised by the DDMA on October 22, and actual mock exercise to be conducted on October 24. He also requested the departments to be prepared for the same.
The Tuensang DPDB also held its monthly meeting at the DC’s conference hall on Monday, under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner and vice chairman of DPDB Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa.
Addressing the meeting, the DC thanked all the departments for their valuable contributions at the recently concluded Dr. T Ao Trophy. After reviewing the last month meeting minutes, the house discussed and recommended for society registrations of Life Care Society Helipong B village and Atrodah Foundation.
The board also reiterated for the construction of EAC and staff quarters at Chingmei EAC HQ. In the meeting, Power Point presentation on departmental activities was presented by Veterinary and Animal Husbandry department.
