Mega legal service camp held in Tamlu town

DIMAPUR — The Longleng District Legal Services Authority (LDLSA), in collaboration with Nagaland State Climate Change Cell, Nagaland Science and Technology Council and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Nagaland, conducted a mega legal service camp-cum-training and capacity building programme at the office premises of the additional deputy commissioner (ADC) in Tamlu town on October 5.

Delivering the welcome address, Kumdilong Kessen, chief judicial magistrate and secretary of LDLSA, informed that it was the first mega legal service camp held in Tamlu town where the various government departments have come together under one umbrella to provide services and benefits the public. He thanked the EAC of Tamlu for being the major contributor towards the mega legal services camp, an update from LDLSA stated.

The EAC of Tamlu, Mopling Phom, enlightened the public on the importance of knowing legal rights and services available. He stated that the state and central governments provide different schemes but many are not aware to avail those benefits. He also encouraged the public to visit all the stalls and avail the benefits of those schemes.

It stated that the team from Nagaland State Climate Change Cell, Nagaland State Science & Technology Council and the Department of Science & Technology took over the session to address the issues of rising temperature. The team also handed over the certificate to all the participants.

Representatives of various departments such as Agriculture distributed seedlings and fertilizers, while the NST issued free bus pass forms for senior citizens and people with disability.

The Medical department also conducted free hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c) test, while Aadhaar correction and registration was carried out by the district administration and the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services distributed pamphlets and LDLSA provided free advice, counseling, affidavit declarations, legal assistance and PM-Kissan updates.

The report stated that over 100 people have benefitted from the mega legal service camp.
