DIMAPUR — The closing ceremony of Poshan Maah 2024 was held on September 30 under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Chizami Project, with SDO (civil) Chizami, L Mongo Khiamniungan, as the programme guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Mongo stressed the significance of continued efforts towards improving nutrition and health standards in the region, according to an update.

He emphasised that during home visits as part of Poshan Maah, the meaning, aims, and objectives of the initiative, as well as the reason for its celebration, should be explained to the beneficiaries to raise awareness. He stated that government programmes can never be successful without public participation, as both go hand in hand.

He applauded the Chizami Project and appreciated the participation of the councils at the closing ceremony. He also encouraged the Chizami Project to collaborate more with line departments in future Poshan celebrations through technology, convergence, awareness campaigns, and capacity building.

Pune Venuh, representing the anganwadi workers, highlighted the village-level activities and efforts made during the month-long initiative. She acknowledged the hard work of the workers and the positive impact on local families.

Tshekhro Thopi, the block coordinator, provided a brief report on Poshan Maah 2024, summarising the various activities and programmes that took place.
