Rurur Village Council to impose indefinite vehicular bandh from October 2
DIMAPUR — The Rurur Village Council has announced an indefinite bandh on vehicular movement along the Shungkiu to Muruhki Diversion Road (NH-202) from October 2.
This action follows the expiry of a 10-day ultimatum issued to the Deputy Commissioner of Shamator on September 21, demanding immediate road repairs and maintenance. In a press release issued on Tuesday, the council cited the authority’s failure to address the deteriorating road conditions, which have become a serious safety hazard.
No vehicular movement will be permitted within the specified jurisdiction during the bandh. However, the council has provided alternate routes for light vehicles:
• Shungkiu via Rurur-Pungrungru village – Yinchkiur village– Kiphire
• Shungkiu via Rurur Village -Sikiur Village – Anatongre village.
