DIMAPUR — Super Strikers and Nizams FC entered into the next round of the Season 8 of Above-35 League (ATL) after winning their respective matches on September 28, played at the DGP Ground, Chümoukedima.

In the first match between Trinity Sporting and Super Strikers, Trinity took an early lead in the 4th minute through Meyiwapang, an update stated.

However, Super Strikers regrouped and equalised in the 22nd minute, courtesy of a solo run by Lipoksashi. Spotting the goalkeeper off his line, Lipoksashi’s shot deflected off a defender and found the back of the net.

Just four minutes into the second half, Super Strikers took the lead with a superb finish from Renbemo, securing a 2-1 victory through excellent forward play.

The second match saw Nizams FC demolishing Late Strikers with an emphatic 10-0 win. Nizams FC started with high intensity, dominating possession. Despite missing several chances early on, Nizams striker Theinamlong opened the scoring in the 9th minute. By the end of the first half, Nizams led 4-0.

The second half saw even more dominance from Nizams, as Theinamlong completed his hat trick in the 45th minute and added a fourth goal in the 48th minute.

Nizams’ depth was evident, as the remaining four goals were shared; a brace from Dr. Lipoksanen, a powerful header from Deo Longchar and another goal from Peter.

Angam’s outstanding performance, contributing six assists and two goals, further highlighted the one-sided affair.
