Inter-school tourney: St. Francis and King David draw, Rivenburgh win big

DIMAPUR — In the ongoing eighth edition of the Inter-School Football Tournament at Medziphema local ground, Chümoukedima district, the match between St. Francis De Sales Hr. Sec. School and King David Hr. Sec. School ended in a draw.

According to an update, the match was a closely contested, fast-paced encounter from both sides. Open chances were missed by both teams in the first half.

The breakthrough came in the 20th minute when a penalty was awarded to St. Francis De Sales Hr. Sec. School, and Seiminlun converted it with a calm tap to the left corner.

King David Hr. Sec. School equalised when their striker was brought down from behind. Nouneser ensured that the goal counted. The final score was 1-1.

In another match, Rivenburgh School dominated Modern Christian School. Despite dominating the midfield, Modern Christian School struggled in the forward area.

Viputo scored two goals, while Papua Mech added another two, and Thangngaisang also found the net for Rivenburgh School.

The only consolation goal for Modern Christian School came from Akivito, with the final score ending at 5-1.
